Outdoor Adventures

As the largest county in Pennsylvania, Lycoming County outdoor activities are plentiful.  There are campgrounds, trails for hiking, biking and ATV riding, areas for hunting, fishing, boating and more.  So let’s get started on our outdoor adventure.

Grab your bikes, hiking shoes and walking sticks and head to the Pine Creek Rail Trail, located in the picturesque Pine Creek Valley. The Pine Creek Rail Trail is a 62 mile trail once voted one of the “Top 10 Trails in the United States” by USA Today. While in the Pine Creek Valley, make sure you have a delicious meal at the Hotel Manor or Waterville Tavern. Both offer wonderful menus, gorgeous views and both offer lodging options. Camping opportunities are abundant in the Pine Creek Valley with Happy Acres Resort and Little Pine State Park all at your fingertips.

Another great stop is Rider Park, one of Pennsylvania’s great scenic and recreational treasures. It is comprised of 867 acres of protected land available to the public 365 days a year. Rider Park offers 15 miles of major and secondary trails leading to three breathtaking vistas.

Fishing opportunities are endless in Lycoming County. Our lakes, rivers, streams, and creeks can accommodate any type of angler. Rose Valley Lake, a 389-acre reservoir owned by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Popular fishing creeks within the county are Lycoming Creek, Pine Creek, Larry’s Creek and Loyalsock Creek. All are ready for you to cast your reels.
