The Thomas T. Taber Museum of the Lycoming County Historical Society will host its first Coffee Hour of the 2026 season on Thursday, March 12th at 10am, with a talk by Jack Fisher, a retired Professor from the Pennsylvania College of Technology. The Lecture Series which continues throughout the year is sponsored by Catherine Burns Insurance Services, Montoursville, and will feature a number of exciting lectures and reenactors to celebrate the history and heritage of the country’s 250th birthday. The lecture will “cover the logging activities in north central PA including the felling of trees, hauling to the streams, lumber camps, tanneries, saw mills, log boom, and the last raft. This activity changed the makeup of the forest and had a direct influence on the forest of today.” The lecture will be held in the Community Room of the Taber Museum and is free and open to the public.
