“Harriet Tubman’” is portrayed by Dr. Daisy Century. With a background in education and a passion for storytelling, Dr. Century uses her theatrical talents to embody figures such as Harriet Tubman, Bessie Coleman, Madam C. J. Walker, Mary Fields, Phillis Wheatley, Hatshepsut, Cathy Williams (female Buffalo soldier) and Sojourner Truth.  Harriet Tubman was a fearless freedom fighter, abolitionist, and humanitarian whose courage changed American history. Born into slavery in Maryland, she escaped to freedom and returned again and again to guide others to safety through the Underground Railroad. During the Civil War, she served as a scout, spy, and nurse for the Union Army, and she later supported women’s suffrage. Her legacy of bravery, justice, and hope continues to inspire people today.
