DESCRIPTION:The Thomas T. Taber Museum of the Lycoming County Historical Society will host its Coffee Hour on Thursday\, September 11 at 10am\, with a talk by Carol Sones Shetler on the cultural history of handkerchiefs.  Carol Sones Shetler is a retired writer\, having written for the Muncy Luminary and West Branch Life for twenty-three years. Handkerchieves are sometimes employed in the creation of quilts. Often embellished with embroidery or edged with lace\, crocheting or tatting\, they are not only a necessity\, but also provided a fashion statement for the person who carried it. \nThe lecture will be held in the Community Room of the Taber Museum and is free and open to the public.
