Summer History Day Camp
The Thomas T. Taber Museum of the Lycoming County Historical Society,
located at 858 West Fourth Street in Williamsport, will hold its annual Summer History Day
Camp from July 26 – July 30, 2021. The camp, designed for children ages 8 to 12, will run
from 9 a.m. to noon daily.
The anticipated activities will include a study of Native American culture, including demonstrations of flint knapping and atlatl throwing, a discussion of archaeological digs within the County, and Native American drumming. The focus of the Day Camp will then shift to a study of Colonial Settlement. The ‘colonial’ days will include segments on cooking, apple cider making, spinning and weaving, and craft activities. Other activities are still in the planning stages. Snacks will be provided each day.
There is a fee and advanced registration is required. For Historical Society members, the cost is $60. For non-members, the cost is $70. To register your child, call the Taber Museum at 570-326-3326 for an application or visit our website at www.tabermuseum.org to download an application. Registrations may be made through July 21, 2021.
